When movie star Michelle Monaghan showed up in Vail, Colo., in April, her new movie “Trucker” had not been picked up for widespread distribution in theaters.
Now it has. The move about a mom who hasn’t seen her son in years before he shows up on her doorstep, is slated to premier nationwide on Sept. 18.
Vail Film Festival watchers got to see it first, however, on Thursday April 2 at the Cascade Theater. The screening was followed by an opening night gala presented by Stella Artois at Donovan Pavilion. Monaghan, also star of the recent popular flicks “Gone Baby Gone,” and “Made of Honor,” showed up in a colorful, striped sweater for the event, accompanied by her husband Pete White.
…Monaghan received an “excellence in acting” award from the festival.
